The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited (FBCL) is a Crown corporation established under the Canada Business Corporations Act following amalgamations completed in 2015. The Corporation is wholly owned by His Majesty the King in right of Canada and operates under the authority of the Minister of Transport.
FBCL is governed by a Board of Directors and managed by a President and Chief Executive Officer, supported by executives and employees. The Corporation is accountable to Parliament through the Minister of Transport and is subject to annual planning, budgeting, and auditing requirements, with financial oversight provided by the Auditor General of Canada.
FBCL has one wholly owned subsidiary, The Seaway International Bridge Corporation Ltd., and participates in several bi-national partnerships with U.S. agencies to support the operation of international bridge crossings within its asset portfolio.
